RPG Wiki

This is the wiki for the as-yet-unnamed RPG! It’s still a work in progress, and I still need to set it up so that the players can edit it. Speaking of whom …

Player Characters

  • AliaspseudonymInquisitor 247 is one of the masked agents of the Inquisition, seeking out Threat objects and creatures in order to contain or eliminate them. As a male he is not taken seriously by most other humans, but he has been partnered with Lisan Carpenter for this mission.
  • Creator-UnrealRylena Veritas is a swordswoman, who grew up in a small village a day’s ride from Riverport. After she was severely injured while defending the village from an attack, all four of her limbs were replaced with magitech clockwork.
  • KaeLisan Carpenter is a no-nonsense champion of the humans’ protector Goddess. Her first appearance involved bashing somebody senseless with her mace, then healing him back to consciousness afterwards. Is it the start of a trend?
  • YurodivyDomino was not the most popular weasel in his tribe. They all thought he talked funny and was too shy. Of course, now they’ve all been conquered by lions, and he’s … what is he doing, anyway?

Non-Player Characters

  • MinkarA crazy Vulture anarchist, who likes throwing bombs, sticking it to The Man and randomly saving Weasels from crowds of angry humans! She follows a creepy god of death, Alchiba, who approves of her dietary choices.

House Rules

New Equipment

  • Sheng BiaoThis exotic weapon looks like a long rope with a knife tied to one end. It is commonly used by Weasels, and is sometimes called a rope dart.

New Feats

  • Clockwork LimbOne of your limbs has been replaced with a magically-powered clockwork prosthetic. This gives you certain advantages, but has the side effect of making it harder to cast arcane spells, and harder for healing magic to affect you. And while it won't short out if it touches water, swimming with a clockwork limb is like rowing with a boat anchor.
  • Divine ShotYou can use your connection with the divine to imbue your ranged attacks with extra destructive energy.
  • Weapon ExpertiseYou can deal significant damage using a light weapon, by targeting weak spots precisely.

New Magic Items

  • Calming IncenseThis incense has the handy ability to act as the Calm Emotions spell, all in a travel-sized thurible! (That's an incense container, for the uninitiated.) It is activated by burning the incense inside.
  • Eyes of DeathThe Eyes of Death is a common and frequently seen relic among Carrion Birds, consisting of a small animal skull worn as a pendant or bracelet. It mimics the ability useable by Alchiban Clerics of Repose, allowing them to see the last living moments of a person after eating the flesh of their corpse.
  • Fortune's BoonThis is a very rare relic of Yara, one which grants the blessing of incredible luck to its bearer. Its shape is variable, as it must be something of emotional significance to the user-- something related to a symbol of luck or luck-based games are preferred (dice, cards, et cetera.)
  • Spider GlovesThis magic item was created by Weasel clerics inspired by the abilities of spiders to get into places they’re not supposed to.
  • Veil of ThanosThe Veil of Thanos is a strip of dusty-grey cloth made of a sheer fabric, usually appearing to be very aged, threadbare, and tattered. Once it is worn, the wearer can see those who've been touched by death.

New Species

  • Carrion BirdCarrion Birds have no lands of their own, but flock in disused and run-down parts of cities. They can often be found at scenes of death and destruction, and may have to be shooed away to keep them from eating the corpses.
  • HorseThe Horses in the RPG are widespread and populous, introduced to multiple continents by the Lions' colonization efforts. Many of them live under Lion rule, while others form their own communities. And most are areligious or participate in the Lions' church, but some keep their old traditions alive ... the most notable perhaps being the cult of Necrous, the Death Horse.
  • LionThe Lions' Empire is so widespread, it is said that the sun never sets on it. Yet for all of their advances in clockwork and machinery, it's still made up mostly of dirt-poor factory workers and laborers, even on their home island. Will the humans be the next to fall to their mighty armies and navies?
  • MeerkatsMeerkats live in burrows near the humans' cities. Long ago they were seen as angelic protectors, sent by the god of the sun, to save humans from the moon's children. Today they continue to watch over humans, under the aegis of their most revered institution: The Inquisition.
  • RousetteThe Lions' historical foes, the Rousettes live on the mainland a long way away from the human lands. Their society has nearly fallen to the Lions several times in the past, but the Goddess Jehan chose one of them to free all the other Rousettes. Since then they have worshipped this goddess of renewal and insanity, finding clarity in her madness.
  • WeaselAnthropomorphic weasels, with a nomadic lifestyle and tribal social structure. Domino's tribe was recently overrun by the Lions.

Unsorted Tweaks

  • Characters cannot drop below 0 Hit Points. A character who reaches 0 Hit Points is KOed, not killed, and may be revived to a Staggered state using the Heal skill. The only way to kill a KOed character is to perform a Coup de Grace, or a similarly damaging special attack at the DM’s discretion.
  • Any character can exchange his or her class’ armor and shield proficiencies for the Monk’s AC Bonus special, upon taking his or her first level in that class.
  • Paladins now have their Special Mount class feature starting at level 1. It has no special abilities except for Empathic Link and Share Spells, and it cannot be summoned magically until level 5.
  • Instead of gaining spellcasting ability, Paladins may choose a bonus Divine feat or Fighter bonus feat at every level that they would have gained a new level of spells.
  • The Unearthed Arcana class variants “Paladin of Freedom” and “Cloistered Cleric” are in use, although the “Cloistered Cleric” is referred to as a “Clerical Sage.”
  • The Unearthed Arcana class variants “Divine Bard” and “Bardic Sage” have been combined into the “Lorekeeper” variant class. It has the poor saves and diminished Bardic Music of the Bardic Sage class, a Cleric’s alignment restrictions, and the Intelligence/Charisma-based spellcasting of Bardic Sage, plus the boost to Bardic Knowledge and the bonus spells from both classes. It is a divine spellcasting class.
  • The 1st-level spell “Comprehend Languages” now has a duration of 24 hours, and does not require you to touch the writing or speaker in order to understand them. It also allows you to reply in their language. It does not grant comprehension of dead or extraplanar languages, however.
