Lightspeed Links

by on 7/06/2010

Lightspeed Links is based on code from the WP-Wiki plugin. Among other things, WP-Wiki lets you use brackets to link to pages and posts that are flagged as Wiki-Editable. I took the code for that part of the plugin and took out the wiki-specific part, so now with Lightspeed Links you can use sets of twin brackets to link to any page or post on your site.

Example: This link to Become Your Fursona’s About page was created using the following code:

[[About]]

If there isn't a page or post on your site matching the exact text that you put in the brackets, it will become a link for you to create it. If the link is on a page, it will link to the new page dialog; if it's on a post, it'll create a new post. You will need to fill in the name of the new page or post yourself; it doesn't detect it from the text that you put in the link.

Revision History

0.2 -- Plugin metadata cleaned up and GPL notice added.

0.1 -- Proof of concept prototype.

Wish List

A way to use aliases (have the name of the link be different from the name of the page or post) would be nice.
