Whoa, what happened? You're someplace where it's dark all of a sudden, and you feel kind of dizzy.

I try to think who I ticked off enough that they'd do this to me.

I bellow out "Somebody turn on the lights!"

I look all around me for a light source, or anything shiny.

I hold perfectly still, breath caught in my throat, wondering if this means what I think it means.

I curl into a ball and try to hide from whatever's out there.

Hey? Who turned out the lights? Where did all my friends go?

Good thing I've always got matches, in case I need to burn ... something.

Whew ... the quiet and dark would be refreshing if I knew where I was.

Ah, so it's one of these stories. Let's see what happens next.

Another power outage? Oh wait ... this is different.

Bright lights turn on all around you! You're in the center of a large, domed room, and in front of you is a mirror. But something about you seems different ...

I'm not gonna look, I'm not gonna look ...

Agh! *hisses* Bright lights! I can't see!

What's happened to me? Oh no, what will my friends think when they see me?

This is not funny. I want to know who did this to me, right now.

Agh! What kind of horrible prank- oh hey, I look kind of nice.

Yep, just as I thought. And now to meet whomever's responsible ...

I stare at it in disbelief. "Alright, this isn't funny ... "

I ask the monster in front of me if it knows where I put my matches.

I ... I have wings?

Ooh! That is one shiny mirror. And are those white jade columns around me?

Out of a door to the side steps a short humanoid bird, with robes wrapped around black-and-teal feathers. He looks pleased to see you.

I tap my foot (paw?) and say "Ve~ry funny."

"Who are you? Did you do this to me? Where am I? Where did my friends go?"

I fold my arms and look down at him. "Explain this."

Oh wow. Are those robes made out of silk? That is one SHINY sapphire pendant.

"P-please don't hurt me ... "

I raise my eyebrows at him, and wait for him to speak first.

"Hi!" *points at the mirror* "Did you know your TV's not working?"

I try to hide behind the mirror. No telling what he's going to do.

"You're a little short for an Evil Wizard, aren't you?"

I have wings ... *tears up*

"Hello!" he says. "I'm Tachyon Feathertail, and I've brought you to my world so you can help me. Don't worry, your friends are all safe."

"Why should I trust you?"

"Friends?" *snort* "What friends?"

"They are? Whew. But what about me? What's happened to me?"

"What ... " *sniff* "What did you do to me?"

"Alright, now tell me why I should help you."

"Ooh, cool! Hiya!" *shakes his hand for at least ten seconds*

"Hey, can you do me a favor? Just look over there where I'm pointing, long enough for me to steal your trousers."

I grin eagerly. If his clothes are that expensive he's got to pay well.

"I know they are. What do you want?"

"How did you know that I'd always wished I could fly?"

Feathertail says that here, people become their fursonas, or the animals that they are on the inside. Like the crazy anarchist, Yurodivy Kiranov, who became a six-limbed chimera. "She can sense my presence, so I need someone else to do this. Can you help?"

"Sounds like fun! Wait, what is it I'm supposed to DO, exactly?"

"May-be ... "

"Stealth is my specialty! Even if I do look striking this way."

"Can't I just talk sense into her? I mean, she'd understand, right?"

"So I've always been like this inside, then ... " *turns around staring at self in awe*

"She can 'sense your presence'? I didn't think you smelled THAT bad, but whatever."

"Go over there and teach her a lesson? That shouldn't be too hard."

"Y-you want me to stop her plans? But I don't know how ... "

"Now, there IS a reward involved, right?" ^.^

"Yes, I can. But there's going to be a price."

"Don't worry, it'll be easy! Just upload this virus into her computer." He hands you a crystal. "Her base is on a floating island like this one, so you'll have to fly there; and yes, there is a reward. Any questions before you go?"

"Yeah. How am I supposed to 'fly' there, Delta Airlines?"

"Yes! Should I run a virus scan before giving this to her?"

"Is this reward something I'd actually WANT?"

I tell him no, then disappear.

"Nope." *rolls up sleeves* "Sounds like a plan."

"You've got a foolproof virus and you're using it for THAT? Think of the possibilities, man!"

"This 'virus' isn't going to mess up my cellphone, is it? 'Cause I've got all my contacts in there."

"YAY FLYING TIME!" ^_^

"N-no, I think I'm good ... if I can get in there without her seeing me ... "

*gnaws on the crystal* "Shiny ... "

Somehow, you make it to the flying island that Yurodivy lives on. It's really nice; all trees, flowers, and steel-reinforced concrete bunker. When you get to the door, the intercom buzzes and a female voice asks "What is it!?"

"Feathertail wants me to give you something. May I come in?"

"Someone you'd better let inside, right now."

I stay quiet, and look for a way to get in without triggering alarms.

"I dunno, what the @#$% do you think it is!?"

"How rude! Do you treat all your visitors this way?"

"Pizza delivery! Can't you just taste that rich, saucy goodness?"

"I heard you're a crazy anarchist! Can I help?"

"Eep! Um ... " *shakes* "Let me inside ... please?"

"I've got a shiny, shiny crystal for you if you'll just let me inside ... "

*to self* "I'm not going to be afraid ... " *coughs* "Let me in!"

You go down the steps to her dark, secret lair. Sure enough, she's got a huge supercomputer down there! Her wings flap impatiently as she looks up at you. "You have something for me, then?"

I walk silently to her computer, and plug the crystal into it.

"Yep, I've got it ... right ... here!" *jams the crystal into the data port*

"You're a very pretty chimera ... "

Drat, she noticed me. I'll just have to play it straight and hand her the crystal, then.

"Yes ... " *looks around* "You don't get a lot of visitors down here, do you?"

"Here you go." *hands it to her*

I shake so bad I can hardly stand up, but I manage to hand her the crystal.

"Ooh, that's one shiny computer ... is the big blue gem its hard drive?"

"Yeah." *slaps the crystal onto the desk* "Go on, take it."

*dons sunglasses* "This crystal is a virus ... Miss Kiranov!"

The crystal's plugged in, and the computer's ... not crashing? Yuro claps her hands excitedly! "Feathertail remembered my birthday! This virus he helped me with is going to bring the world's financial network to its knees. Thanks a million!"

"Are you SERIOUS? Quick, we've got to turn your computer off!"

" ... @#$%!"

"Thanks a million ... what?" *eyes gleam*

"Yay!" *throws confetti around*

I wrack my brain for an alibi, so I'll have one when the police arrive.

"You're welcome. Here, have some cake."

*facepalm* "The joke's on me, I guess!"

"Oh no ... " *shakes* "What have I done?"

I stare at her for a long moment, then kick something and stomp out.

"All this ... was for that? But then why ... "

You wake up in front of your computer. It's starting to get light outside. What a weird dream, huh? But then you look in the mirror, and realize you're still your fursona ...

I drive my fist through the glass.

I call or IM my friends, because I need moral support like right now.

I start trying to think of ways to buy food without anyone seeing me.

I stare at myself for a second, then go to bed. Maybe this'll make more sense tomorrow.

I do nothing but stare at myself for the next hour.

"Yay!" *throws confetti around*

I curl into a ball in the corner and begin to cry.

I check my pockets, to see if I still have all the shinies I took while they weren't looking.

I try to see if I can change back and forth so I can freak people out!

I calmly turn back, knowing the world is not ready to see my true form.

Wait, I thought my fursona was supposed to be a cat, not a cuuuute fennec… kyuuuut… did I say kyute? *poses*

Strange…somehow it guessed I was a scavenger. I can’t imagine how it guessed th-SHINY!
