Another intriguing tale, I must say. It contains some of the same themes seen in the Virmir piece from a different angle. What is "normal" and what does one really sacrifice when trying match up with that label? This takes this issue with a nice flair, taking the POV of a person who has dwelt with this, and thinks she's answered the question long before...but finds its not as simple as that.

I must say that this takes a nice route in showing the issues that the kitsune in this world has to deal with. Mythical creatures dealing with the world around them with a fair bit of aplomb. It's told well between the fleeting memories of Kath's past, to the words she says in complete candidness (or is it "canidness" *baddumTISH*). Really liked the back and forth (the young fox served as a nice foil for her rise to a snapping point) and the overall story had a nice effect, complete with a satisfying ending, giving that slight dash of hope for the future.

Plush, this has that "just the beginning" vibe to it. Very nice.
